Rachelle and Dave saw Rogue One this week and they have some thoughts. Spoiler alert: they neither loved nor hated it. But they did wait until recording this episode to share their thoughts with each other.

Also in this episode: a Gotham Sirens movie that doesn't interest them in the least, Rachelle drops a whole bunch of comics, Dave gets a double hit of Copra, and Sebastian Stan is going to be playing Jeff Gillooly in a movie because nothing in this world is fair or makes sense.

PLUS! Rachelle and Dave exchange Christmas presents!

This will be the last episode of 2016. Happy holidays everyone!

Dec 14, 2016

As their Christmas gift to you (and to themselves), Dave and Rachelle have decided to NOT do a 'Best of 2016' episode! Instead, they watched the 2015 documentary, The Image Revolution, about the early days of Image Comics.

Also in this episode: the new Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer, the Little Shop of Horrors remake that no one asked for, James Gunn is talking some noise again, and Batman writes a really melodramatic letter to Catwoman!

Dec 7, 2016

This week Rachelle and Dave are talking about some of their favourite (and least favourite) Superhero romances! Rachelle also gets into why Steve Rogers has a 75-year history of being very awkward with women.

Also in this episode: the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer, The Mummy trailer, Chris Evans has an Omaze contest that Rachelle is definitely going to win, and Rachelle had a tweet go viral and it was crazy!

Nov 30, 2016

Rachelle and Dave name some iconic duos this week! They are listing their favourite recurring comic book creative teams.

Also in this episode: new X-Men teams, more Black Panther casting news, Buckaroo Banzai news that is already irrelevant, and Rachelle has very strong feelings about the romance of Black Widow and Winter Soldier.

Nov 23, 2016

Rachelle and Dave are healing themselves with laughter this week. Things have been kinda bleak lately, in case you haven't noticed, so they are discussing their favourite humour comics, old and new.

Also in this episode: The Inhumans television series that no one asked for, Dave saw Arrival, Rachelle watched Civil War (again), and Mitchell returns to the podcast to pitch some ideas for Bizarro superheroes.

Nov 16, 2016

Well...

...comic books don't seem so important all of a sudden, but Rachelle and Dave are gonna try to talk about them anyway! It just might be interspersed with some angry statements, confused and bewildered feelings, and barely concealed terror. But other than that, they discuss the return of Young Justice, DC's denial of plans for a Frank Cho Wonder Woman comic, and other very important things to take your mind off the nightmare we all find ourselves in now.

In these troubled times, we turn to superheroes, and Dave has some comic book recommendations if you are looking for inspiration.

Nov 9, 2016

Dave and Rachelle saw Doctor Strange and they liked it! The second half of this episode has lots of spoilers for that movie.

Also in this episode: Frank Cho and Milo Manara are the real heroes, The Flash loses another director, Jeremy Renner would still totally be into a Hawkeye Netflix series, Sebastian Stan might be growing a beard, and, also, comic books are discussed.

Nov 2, 2016

Rachelle and Dave finally finished watching Netflix's LUKE CAGE and they have some thoughts. Warning that the last thirty minutes or so of this episode contains a lot of spoilers for that show.

Also in this episode: MOCKINGBIRD has been cancelled and men everywhere can rest safe knowing that their enemy has been slain, new possible directors for DEADPOOL, Rachelle continues to fall deeper in love with HydraCap, and Dave is cautiously optimistic about an upcoming STAR TREK: TNG/ALIENS crossover comic.

Oct 26, 2016

After a week off, the Living Between Wednesdays podcast is back! Dave has spent much of the past couple of weeks watching scary movies, and he is going to tell Rachelle all about them.

Also in this episode: the tragic and unexpected death of Steve Dillon, new trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Logan, Chris Samnee's amazing BuckyNat cover for Black Widow no.10, Deadpool 2 loses its director, Wonder Woman becomes a UN Ambassador, Donald Glover becomes Lando Calrissian, and Rachelle continues to not understand the behaviour of Sebastian Stan fans.

Oct 12, 2016

This week Rachelle and Dave are once again joined by their friend Sean Jordan, aka Wordburglar! They discuss all sorts of things, like Peter David's hatred of the Romani people, Stan Lee's cure for racism, Luke Cage, Betty Boop, Gideon, the Iron Fist trailer, the Ninjak trailer, the Inhumans, Malibu Comics, The Jackal, and...how does Jeff Lemire write so many comics?

All this plus a lot of talk about the comics they read this week! Always a fun time hanging out with Sean! Check out his new music video, Channel Halifax!

Oct 5, 2016

Sometimes comic book creators fight. Sometimes those fights become public knowledge. Sometimes evidence of those fights show up in comic books. This week, Dave shares some great examples.

Also in this episode: Luke Cage is on Netflix! Wonder Woman is bisexual (of course)! And...there are so many Captain America-related comics out this week!

Sep 28, 2016

With the plethora of superhero movies and television shows being made these days, there are a lot of new fans of the characters. But where to start with some of these characters if a new fan wants to make the leap to comics? Dave and Rachelle have some suggestions! This week they suggest starting point comics for new fans of Captain America, Superman, Iron Man, Wolverine and Wonder Woman.

Also in this episode: Sam Neill is going to be in Thor: Ragnarok! Doctor Strange is going to be in Infinity War! Luke Cage is going to be on Netflix this week! Bucky is going to be in Black Widow! Uh, rather...Bucky is going to appear in the Black Widow comic!

Sep 21, 2016

Dave has a list of unrealized super hero projects that we wants to talk about. Things like Superman 2000, Captain America 2099 and Iron Man 2099, Twilight of the Superheroes, and Tom Mankiewicz's lost Batman movie.

Rachelle is happy to contribute to that conversation. She also offers a very short This Week in Winter Soldier segment. Also discussed: Batman Day, Spawn 2, the Chris Evans/Martin Shkreli feud, and this past week's comics!

Sep 14, 2016

Rachelle and Dave are visited by J.Bone, who is not only an amazing artist and cartoonist, but also a genuinely awesome guy. Lots of topics are covered, including Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, Captain America: Civil War, Supergirl #1, Glitterbomb #1, Bucky Barnes, The Winter Soldier, James Buchanan Barnes, and, um, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves? Also, Dave is interested in seeing some Captain America/Warriors Coney Island fanfic.

They also play a super hero game devised by Rachelle's son, Mitchell. It's...challenging.

Sep 7, 2016

Dave went to San Diego Comic Con! He's back to talk all about the things he saw, the people he met, the awards he won, and the things he bought! Rachelle and Dave also cover as much of the news that came out of SDCC as possible, including their thoughts on about a hundred movie trailers.

It's also another instalment of the summer book club, and this week they are talking about Doctor Strange: The Oath by Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin.

PLUS: there are a lot of comics to talk about! Jul 20, 2016

Dave and Rachelle couldn't be more excited to be talking about Batman: Hush for this week's summer book club episode. The twelve-issue extravaganza by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee is...well, it's a whole lot of stuff. All of the stuff.

Also in this episode, Dave is really enjoying Stranger Things on Netflix, Rachelle just got back from New York City, Dave liked Ghostbusters, and Rachelle likes hot men in her DC comics. Jul 6, 2016

It's week two of the Living Between Wednesdays summer book club! This week Rachelle and Dave are talking about the 1970s Spider-Man Clone Saga by Gerry Conway and Ross Andru. NOT the 1990s Clone Saga!

Also in this episode, they talk about the excellent Steve Rogers Captain America #2, and about the relentless hate being hurled at writer Nick Spencer. They also talk about that really dumb Paste Magazine article that states that Marvel backpedalled on their original Hydra Cap story with this second issue. Come on, Paste Magazine. Get it together.

In This Week In Winter Soldier, Rachelle talks about the latest Year of Marvels digital comic, which is all about everyone's favourite metal-armed former assassin. She also bought a really creepy Winter Soldier plush toy.

Jun 29, 2016

It's the first week of the Living Between Wednesdays summer book club! This week Rachelle and Dave are revisiting the classic DC Elseworlds tale, Kingdom Come by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. Before that they talk about the sudden and tragic death of actor Anton Yelchin. As well they discuss the latest Spider-Man: Homecoming casting announcements, the reports from the Justice League movie set visit, and Rachelle's woes over the Spider-Man event in the Avengers Academy game.
