Woah. What a week, huh guys? Rachelle and Dave were spared having to see X-Men Apocalypse this week because there was so much to talk about in the world of actual comic books!

The uproar caused by Steve Rogers Captain America #1 (and, to a lesser extent, DC's Rebirth) perfectly demonstrated the challenges faced by comic book publishers, creators and fans in this age of social media. Dave and Rachelle talk about many, many things this week, including fans and publishers spoiling major comic events, and then how these events are scrutinized by the non-comic-reading public. They also get into the plethora of issues that were raised this week in the comic (mostly Captain America) fandom: racism, misogyny, homophobia, fan entitlement, projection, trolling, mob mentality, censorship, fictional characters vs real life, fiction as a mirror of real life, fictional evil, and more! They also talk about the actual content of Captain America #1 and DC Rebirth, and Dave has some thoughts about the first episode of Preacher!

Rachelle and Dave head to Moncton, New Brunswick for the East Coast Comic Expo! They had a great time and talk all about it.

Also in this episode, they discuss Wonder Woman: Earth One, the spoilers for DC's Rebirth, the Thor: Ragnarok casting announcements, and the first issue of Future Quest. In the This Week in Winter Soldier segment, Rachelle is very interested in Bucky's ability to gently caress plums with his metal arm.

The news of Darwyn Cooke's death this week was absolutely devastating, not only to those who knew him, but those who love his work. Rachelle and Dave were lucky enough to not only be fans of Darwyn's, but also to call him a friend. In this episode they share their own memories of him, and look back at his incredible body of work. There is a lot of very therapeutic laughter.

The second part of the episode covers a few hot topics from the past week in comics, including new casting announcements for the Black Panther movie, the cancellation of Agent Carter, and the announcement of a Harley Quinn movie. Also, Rachelle watched the Civil War cast episode of the new Chelsea Handler talk show and still has no idea what the hell she watched.

Dave and Rachelle are joined by star artist/nice guy/friend J.Bone this week to talk about CIVIL WAR!!!!!!

Warning: this episode contains SPOILERS! In fact, it is nothing but spoilers! But that's ok because you've seen Captain America: Civil War at least twice by now, right?

Before they talk about that, a few other things are discussed, including Free Comic Book Day, Thunderbolts #1, Sharon Stone maybe joining the MCU, and Ben Affleck becoming an executive producer on the Justice League movie.

Big thanks to J.Bone! Check out his art in The Rocketeer at War #3, which hits comic shops this week!

Happy Civil War Week everyone (in North America)!

Dave and Rachelle's excitement levels are out of control for this movie. To get ready, they got together to watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier just before recording, and they discuss both Captain America movies in the second half of the episode.

But first: Dave is excited about a possible Wonder Man appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, all of the DC movie directors are jumping ship, Dave has all the Free Comic Book Day title highlights, did Henry Cavill actually give his teenage girlfriend a promise ring, and Rachelle has a list of her favourite moments of the Civil War press tour.
