Who likes Captain America? Rachelle and Dave do! It's the penultimate week of the Living Between Wednesdays book club and they are talking about back-to-back Mark Waid/Ron Garney Captain America stories: Operation Rebirth and Man Without a Country.

But first they discuss the late, great Jack Kirby's 99th birthday, more troubles for the Gambit movie, Ryan Lochte at Wizard World, and Rachelle tells Dave all about the tropes and cliches commonly found in Captain America fanfic. PLUS, comics are discussed like Kingsway West #1, Lake of Fire #1, Blue Beetle Rebirth #1 and Steve Rogers Captain America #4.

Also in this episode: Zendaya is Mary-Jane (yay!), Civil War II is eight issues instead of seven (yay?), Jared Leto was tricked into doing Suicide Squad (ha!) and Chris Evans gets licked by his dog while doing push-ups (awwww). In a new segment, Rachelle explains mpreg fanfic to Dave. PLUS, new comics like Supergirl Rebirth #1, Sam Wilson Captain America #12 and Black Widow #6 are discussed.

Week 7 of the Living Between Wednesdays summer book club and Dave and Rachelle read Jim Starlin and Mike Mignola's 1988 DC book, Cosmic Odyssey.

Also in this episode: fan love of Stranger Things' Barb prompts the Rachelle and Dave to talk a bit about minor characters who got a crazy amount of fan attention (the Boba Fett effect), Rachelle wishes Sebastian Stan a happy birthday and gives updates on his new movie, plus some highlights from DCAF.

Rachelle and Dave went to see Suicide Squad and they did not care for it. In this episode, they break it down, character by character, and offer some suggestions on how it could have been improved.

It's also week six of the Living Between Wednesdays Summer Book Club, and they discuss Michel Fiffe's self-published tribute to the Suicide Squad, Copra (Round One). All this plus: Rachelle's thoughts on the Captain America gay porn parody, Dave's review of the latest Ed Brubaker/Sean Phillips book, Kill or Be Killed, Rachelle is impressed with the new Superman's ass, and a hearty congratulations to Sebastian Stan for being the number one celebrity on Tumblr this week (whatever that means).

Dave went to San Diego Comic Con! He's back to talk all about the things he saw, the people he met, the awards he won, and the things he bought! Rachelle and Dave also cover as much of the news that came out of SDCC as possible, including their thoughts on about a hundred movie trailers.

It's also another instalment of the summer book club, and this week they are talking about Doctor Strange: The Oath by Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin.

PLUS: there are a lot of comics to talk about! Steve Rogers Captain America #3 came out this week and Rachelle and Dave loved it! And in This Week in Winter Soldier, Rachelle talks all about Thunderbolts #3 and tells Dave a story about fans going absolutely bananas on Sebastian Stan's Instagram when he cancelled his Wizard World Chicago appearance.
